My New Resolution/Affirmation
I believe that daily affirmations help us change our thoughts and give us momentum to make desired changes, and reach desired goals. This is my new affirmation to help me make changes in my lifestyle and diet that will help me stick to a desired health plan. I know that my reliance on God will be key to making this change. I have tried many times in the past to make a change, but have tried really doing things with my own will-power and hoping that I can just do it. I have learned that when we include God in our plans, He can give us the strength to make it through the tough times. The times when we are tempted to quit, or the times we experience a failure, or relapse. He can help us get back on our feet.
“I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God. Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore, I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in His strength I can do all things.” -Alma 26:11-12, from The Book of Mormon.
I can do all things with God
Whatever challenges you are facing in your life, I know that God can bring you peace and joy and help you in your journey. There is purpose in the experiences that we are given, good and bad. Some of us have experienced terrible and horrifying things. Even at those times we can turn to God and receive strength and help to recover, heal, and forgive. We can be set free of physical and emotional pain, heartache, suffering, loneliness, loss of a loved one, etc… Turning to God daily helps us remember the truth that we are His children, and that He has a plan and purpose for each of us that includes our unique experiences that lead us to unique lessons that can be learned, and happiness that only comes from experiencing bitterness.
It is my prayer and plea that you will turn to the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, and receive the love, mercy, grace, and power that He constantly offers you.
Give yourself to The Captain of Your Soul, who is Christ, and receive the blessings that are constantly being offered to you, and see the tender mercies He places in your life each and every day.
